Replamin tastes like...
...sunflower seeds, oatmeal and earwax. Just in case you were wondering. I suppose some of the taste could have come from the goats mouth since that's where it was right before she spit-sprayed all 5 ccs of it right in my face. Note to self: close mouth before administering anything orally to goats. How many years does it take to learn that lesson?
Blech.

 oh....
I think it has a touch of kale flavor, too.
BUT..... the improvement in my goats' coats is amazing. They've gotten one dose a week for three weeks, and their hair is soooooooft now.

I was thinking of starting a thread for folks to post the results they have had with it. I'll do that now. It's been two or three weeks since some folks got theirs.

~giggles~ I very carefully did not ask that very question, Strange Bear, but I did *think* it. LOL
I am going to let April off the hook and guess, "childhood adventures". In other words, the same reason that I know what Meow Mix tastes like......

I am the strange one in my family I taste almost everything before I give it to my animals. I do not eat dog food or wormer but like some dog toys taste horrible wont give them to my dog, vital, bounce back, even tasted their mineral.
Big Red once spit cud all over me. He did it on purpose too I swear. I was coppering him and I was holding his head up so he would swallow it. He swallowed the copper and the chip then I felt him bring a cud up and then it was all over my face. Yep... that was not fun, and he was even more mad when it didn't work because I still wouldn't let him go.

I had a younger brother. (I deleted a lot of more colorful adjectives and just went with "younger"). You all know what a "Wet Willie" is, right? He invented the ever-feared "Waxy Wanda" which is the opposite of a wet willie.
Kale was the flavor I couldn't quite pin down. I taste everything the goats get as well. My husband swears I'm going to die one of these days from putting stupid things in my mouth. I just usually don't taste it after they've already chewed it!

I taste everything too. How else will I know if it need snow cone syrup mixed in? Then I taste it again to make sure there's enough.
You could try a welding helmet to keep your face clean and your mouth free from projectiles.

Look at it this way- at least you didn't get a squirt of strep-infected mastitic milk in your mouth while stripping out a ewe...and then ended up with strep throat. Fun times.

My impression of it was... dirt, kale, numbness. Not as numbing as Dimethox or Ivomec+ but definitely unpleasant. I didn't taste it on purpose, got it spit all over my face. Two of the three goats I've given it to so far sniffed it, eagerly licked it, gave me a dirty look and wouldn't get near it again. One of those spit it out, and a glob landed right in my mouth. Had to force the rest down them via syringe. The third one sucked it down like liquid goat crack, licked the syringe, tried to lick my face since I smelled like the stuff, then tried to eat the syringe it was in.
Today is 2nd dose day. I plan to straddle the spitter and dose her from behind.

Sorry, I got the mental image of a goat saying "Give me my FIX man!" and then trying to eat the syringe. Thanks, I needed that giggle!

Awwww, glad to have brightened your day a bit.
I'll report back after 2nd dosing this evening. This will be the 1st dose for my buck, he's usually really good but who knows what may happen?

~grinz~ Luckily, no you don't. Else I would have been kicked out long ago!
My DH does stuff like that, especially when I cook soft food for the macaws. Sorry, but *cooked* beans, grains, cantalope, strawberries, bananas, and chili peppers all cooked together does NOT sound appetizing to me. The birds, however, love it. DH says it tastes good. I'll take his word for it.
