Showing goats like cattle?

I know that when steers are shown, the handles use a long thin kind of stick to set their feet. Is this an acceptable method to use when showing market wethers? I've never seen it done but I tried it in practice with Ferdinand today and it is so much easier and less awkward than setting feet by hand.

you would be the only one in the ring with a stick in your hand. Not good to be to oddball. If you practice setting them up properly they will figure out what you want of them and assume the possition mostly on their own.

I wouldn't use a stick. If you do not want to bend over as much train them to the touch of your foot. We did that a lot with our show dogs. My girls for the most part will freeze in the spot I put them when they are in the ring. I've only seen one wether show and they braced them mostly. So I think it would be hard to do that and hold a stick.
