New goats and cute kids!
I wanted to add a nubian doe to the herd to see what kind of kids we would get with breeding to a boer buck after reading some good experiences here with the cross. I found "Angel", a nubianX. Got her from Crooked Board Farms. They've bred her to their mytonic buck and from the kids she's had they think she may have mytonic in her.
We also picked up her February doeling, a percentage mytonic. We're hoping to see some good meat from the mytonicXboer.
I felt very good about bringing these girls home, they came from a great looking herd and have been well cared for, unlike my experience in February!
"Angel" , so named for the angel wings on both her sides. She got a bit stressed when we moved her and dropped a bit of weight, but is eating again and is the new herd queen.
Her doeling "Annie", we changed her name because her face reminds us of a little antelope! She is very sweet.
And pictures would not be complete without kids!! Here's DGD3 doing her favorite thing with "Stormy", her 2 month old boer doeling.

She has been helping do chores since she could walk. Last year we found her storing goat grain in the cubby of her little bike, she had been nibbling on it all day!

I used to do that too. My mom had a fit because there could be mouse poop in it. I told her I only ate the corn and oats. I thought she would flip out. She did go to the store and bought human dewormer. It doesn't make a lot of sense but if it mad her feel better, okay.
You daughter is an absolute doll! Your goats are gorgeous too.

Cute! Nothing like the farm to boost immunity! And thanks for your generosity, but she's my first grandaughter. I giggle when I get asked out in public if she's my first child

Thanks to all! I had a dream before she was born that she would have red hair, and she has her mama's and GP's darkest brown eyes. I can't wait to start her and the other 4 grandkids in 4-H!!

My Mom always wanted a redhead. Out of eight daughters and four sons she only got red highlights. Mom is a brunette and Dads hair is dark brown almost black.
Now Mom is holding out for a redheaded grandchild.

Maybe she'll get one! My hair was the same color when I was little, I got it from my grandfather. We are the only known redheads in the family. My son was dark brown/auburn as a baby, but now has sandy blonde hair with the same red beard-kinda funny when he grows the beard!
