Hay question

If you had the choice between Bermuda hay and a mix of Orchard/Timothy which would you choose. I do not have alot of area for my goats to browse so we buy our hay. I am currently feeding Bermuda, that is all I have been able to find but have found a source for Orchard/Timothy mix and was wondering if I should consider switching. This would be a permanent switch not flipping back and forth. Just wondering which one was better for goats. Up until now I havent had a choice. Just so everyone knows, I also feed an all-grain, alfalfa pellets, minerals and lots of fresh garden fare.

I would choose the Timothy/orchard grass if it were me. What is the difference in price & have you went to look at either types of bales?

They are similiar in price. I am already feeding the
Bermuda. I haven't seem the Timothy Orchard mix but
I have been told it is nice hay. I will look at it myself to
Determine that. Just wondering which is more preferred.
Thanks for your response.

Ditto! In fact, when we reseed this year that's what we are putting down.

I agree with the above, BUT! If your goats are already eating the Bermuda, don't go all out for the Orchard/Timothy until you know your goats like it!! Goats can be quite contrary.....
CaliannG and melco like this.
