Finally getting our house!

We finally have an official closing date for our house! Our offer was accepted at the end of April and we were told the bank that owned it wanted to close in 30 days so our estimated closing date was June 18...then July 12...then July 26...then August 2...

We close 8 AM on Monday!

The best part is that 2 of the neighbors have goats so when we get ours the other neighbors will already be used to the noise.

So now I can actively search for some Nigerian "goaty goats" as my daughters call them. The bummer part is that it's probably too late in the year to have a good selection of kids, but I guess that means we'll have more time to get the pen set up.

Congratulations! This is the exciting part of homesteading! But really, why are you messing with those munchkins. You need Nubians!

Actually, I love NDs. I have 3 now. They are the breed I started out with.

grats on your new place!! Hate the packing and unpacking but love the settling in part. It's allot easier when you don't have a whole passel of critters to get set up too.

Welcome to Crazy! You'll fit right in.

I'm not sure what part of the country you're in, or will be, but if the drought/hay situation is bad there people will be cutting back so they don't have to feed through the winter. You may be able to pick some nice Nigerians for a good price.

Congratulations on finally getting your house! Now the fun begins with all the plans for your new homestead! Have fun looking for just the right goats, maybe you can find a couple does' already old enough to breed this fall & have your own babies next spring?

I'm in southwest Wyoming or as we call it Wydahotah. Star Valley is on top of a whole bunch of springs so it's nice and green here. My husband wants to start with babies so the field is narrowed if I want to get disease tested ones that are disbudded...the neighbors' goats have horns so I doubt they have an iron to do it.
