I can see why they want $1000 for the buck. They're probably trying to recoup their losses from having to take his vain self to the beauty parlor for all of those perms.

I see some pretty hefty scurs on some of them as well.....
Perhaps they are in an area where Saanen's are scarce and can command top dollar?

I don't think they will get sold if that is their asking price.

Yep, they are nuts...... I wouldn't give even a tiny fraction of that for those goats...

Now I have seen some goats in that price range and higher, but they had been on milk test, LA, shown, out of SG stock ect. ect........ And they certainly didn't look like the goats pictured in that ad.

If they were selling for the bloodlines, then they would be stating what the bloodlines are... Really curly hair tho! the doe doesn't look bad from what I can see... but I don't know anyone who invests that much into a goat unless they know the bloodlines....

I'm guessing that they probably purchased them from Lake Country due to their location and the prices they are asking. Lake Country is known for high prices...

Well, if they are registered, then of curse you can go to ADGA and look up the bloodlines on their pedigree search.

These people don't know registered goats very well. Or they are REALLY bad at making ads. It would have to be one HECK of an *unproven* (they are yearlings, after all, and no one knows what their daughters will be like) buck to be worth *more* than does from similar lines and stock. If these animals had already gotten show points, or milk stars, to make them worth that much, then shouldn't they have stated that in the ad?

Also, on the one buck, I don't think those are scurs. Those look like honest-to-injun horns to me, which means he has NOT been shown at any AGS or ADGA sanctioned event. Even if they are just really BIG scurs, they are enough like horns that he would be disqualed at an ADGA or AGS show for them.

$1,000 for an unproven, un-showable, yearling buck? Only if he pees liquid gold and shed pure silver hairs!

~puts on her best, mournful, bluesy voice~ NO-body knoooowwss....the troubles I've seen!

It has not been an easy year at all, and I have been downtrodden, overwhelmed, and depressed. BUT...tis' an ill wind that blows no one any good, and some good learning HAS come out of it. Which I shall post in another thread.

I have a $1,000 goat, but he is out of a FS93 two time top ten producer by the son of an ADGA National Champion. No doe in his pedigree has a Final Score below 90.
