My Jubilee! (Emily - here's the doeling)

Below is the doeling that was born to a very very special goat of mine, descended from the two does that I got from Emily years ago.

Her dam had to be put down after kidding due to a spider bite that had ruined her udder and left it open to infection.

The doeling was fostered for bottle feeding to a friend of mine who *really* helped me out during a bad personal time. I don't think they used cocci prevention, and unfortunately, they thought weaning early was a good idea. I have her back on three bottles a day and cocci meds, and I've dewormed her. I expect her to catch up with her cousin, also pictured, who is actually a week younger.

My friend, Angela, with the goaties.

She is quite a bit smaller than her cousin but she is a little doll anyways Alice & I know she's going to be all caught up in size in no time & beautiful as her mother.

She is so cute! I can't wait to watch her grow and thrive. I'm really sorry about her dam.

She is a looker. I am sure at your farm she will catch up.

She is just precious!! So happy she's home with you now, though I'm sorry she's tiny and you have to do the bottle thing

Don't worry though, we got that 4 month old, tiny, stunted doeling Ella, to grow by hitting her with a copper bolus, Bo-Se, deworming, coccidia meds & lots of milk. Even got her to breeding weight by 10 months old, which shocked us as I really didn't think we'd get her there... You can get Jubilee up to speed, I'm certain of it!

I was wondering about bolusing at such a young age. I may get a small dose into her today.

How old is she?

We bolused mom's mini buck at 9 weeks old. He had a rough start & was weaned & chewing cud already (we put him back on a bottle too). Even at that young age he had fish tail, coarse coat & dark spots burnt orange. Bolused him, then repeated in 3 weeks.....Made such a huge difference.

Sent you a text.... Dunno if you got it yet or not, if not, check your phone
