Jimmy update

I'm not really dead nor have I disappeared for good, I've just been behaving myself and staying away from the forum until I finish Storey's pig book. :o(

But, I wanted to share this picture of Jimmy, one of the preemies we got from Emily this past spring. I still prefer my floppy-eared goats but he and Esme are sooooo cute. I love their perky little ears!

Oh, and I started a Goat Tips & Tricks blog at Goat Tips & Tricks - if anyone is interested.

I'll be back again when the pig book is a wrap (*sigh*). The deadline is August 15 and I had better have it done by then...

Gosh he looks like he's getting so big & cute too! How come no picture of Esme, she was a little doll too.
I too prefer the goats with ears, but the Lamancha's are growing on me.

Here are some pictures I just shot of her princessness. Not very good, as it's almost impossible to photograph these kids without an assistant to lure them away from the camera.

The book is coming along okay. I'll be sooooo happy to have this one in the bag. I'm spoiled because the last three were about backyard goats, backyard cows, then backyard sheep--all topics that really interest me. Raising pork? Uh-uh.

Besides, I'll be glad to have my life back again. Then I'll be be back here again every day. I had to put the forum off-limits for the duration because I was checking in a couple dozen times a day and wasn't getting boo accomplished. :o(

It was sheer dumb luck. I was across the yard photographing sheep when I saw his little face pop up behind the bush hog. :o)

Why is it that breeders prefer LaManchas with gopher ears? Elf ears are soooo doggoned cute (and silky!).

I'm still gradually getting used to their more angular look. My getting-elderly Sable wether is angular but my Alpine is a barrel on legs. The rest of my goats are Nubians, Boers, or Nubian-Boers, so they're more upholstered. Well, I also have Teasel the surly Spanish horned goddess but she's in a class by herself. :op
