Linear Appraisal Question

When you look at a goat's name and they give the letters after their registered name e.g. Goat Land Happy Goat EVEE, What part of the body is evaluated in each letter. I Know that the E stands for Excellent etc. On a linear appraisal it shows letters for 12 areas. I'm just wondering what part of the body they pick. Is it the 4 highest scores? I'm confused.

Thanks coso! What about for bucks? What do they replace mammary with because that isn't appraised.

The size of his package?

Sorry that is the first thing that went through my head when I read "replace mammary with".

On bucks and youngstock, GA is 55% of the score, DC 30%, and BC 15%.

You should have seen me trying to find a polite way to word it

So bucks are only supposed to have 3 letters after their name?

Yes from what I read ony three letters.

Here are "polite" words you can use in the future, yes I am tired, antibiotics have been keeping me from getting more then 5 hours per night. That's my story and I am sticking to it! lol

Junk
Package
Goodies
No-Nos
Baby Maker
Business End of a buck

and of course the ones that always work....
Penis
Testicles/ Balls

I would pass on judging those as well if I was a linear appraiser never know when a buck might try to hose you down.

Bucks don't get specific appraisal scores based on their genitals, but they can be faulted for problems with them. Believe me, all appraisers check bucks down below

Bucks are given 3 scores for the over all score as was mentioned before.

In Linear Appraisal the goats are evaluated over a number of Linear Traits where they are given a numerical score from 1-50 indicating where that trait fits on a range of extremes. They are also evaluated on structural traits which are given a letter score. They then receive overall category scores, which are what you general see advertised. They are the group of 3 or 4 letters depending on whether it is a buck or a doe appraised. They also receive a final score somewhere between 1 and 100. The highest final score on record at ADGA is 94.
