Sad news...

I've thought for quite some time that I needed to get rid of Cookie and Fuzz (the Lamanchas suit me much better), but didn't have the heart to sell them. Then, last Friday I found out that my friend had one lonely wether and needed a friend for him. I mentioned Cookie and Fuzz, and she just about jumped for joy. At her request, I went and checked out the place today (we joked that I was the GPS...goat protective services). There isn't nearly as much pasture as we have here, but there is more barn space. They will just be pets and will get to spend the rest of their lives there.

We're going to deliver them Saturday. While we're there, I'm going to show her how to trim hooves and administer wormer. She normally has the vet out to do that stuff, but she wants to learn how to do it.

So, I'm VERY sad that they will be leaving, but I'm happy that they will be in a loving home. We're going to have to do a couple of modifications on their barn, because, as it is set up right now,Cookie and Fuzz could jump to freedom in about 3 seconds. We just need to put up a few boards to secure things a bit better. The wether, Boomer, is quite portly and never jumps.

My friend is super excited that she passed the GPS test and started sending out texts to friends and to her hubby as soon as I gave the go ahead! There might just be a crowd there when we deliver them Saturday.

Don't look at as a loss. Look at it as spreading the joy!! Also it will give you an excuse to get some more now that you have the room

You will still get visitation it sounds like. This is good news to me. And you can get 3 LaManchas of course because they take up less room because of the no ear thing.

Ha! I won't be getting any more goats unless they are born here. As of right now, I have Snicket and Mudge, and Mudge's girls that were born in March. I like both of the doelings for different reasons, so I'm not going to decide what to do with them until they are a bit older. I know I want to keep at least one of them, and then there will be more babies next year. I would imagine that I'll want to keep at least one of Snicket's if she has a doeling.

I'm very silly in that I like everyone to have WAY more room than they need. 6 goats is just too many in our available space (in my opinion).

Hahahahahahahahahaha gasp gasp

Sorry, it was the "I won't be getting any more goats" thing that got me!!!! Face it, you're addicted. If someone shows up with a "good deal" you'll jump on it, just like the rest of us!!!

Oh I can imagine how hard that decision was! I love Cookie and Fuzz! It really sounds like a great home for them. But tell her she has to continue posting pictures of them for us!! They are just so cute!

Sounds like they will be really well taken care of & Loved a Whole Bunch at their new home plus you'll still be able to see them or check on them when ever you want too.

We delivered them this morning and stayed for a couple of hours after that. I was very sad this morning, but they acted like they had lived there forever. They were a big hit!

Boom (the wether), got a much-needed hoof trim and just stood there like that's what he wanted me to do to him. I'm going to go back in a couple of weeks to trim a bit more. I didn't want to trim too much off and leave him with sore feet.

Dumb me...I took the camera, but forgot to even take it out of the truck. If I remember, I'll get pictures when I go back for hoof trimming.

I must say, it is very quiet in our barn now!
