Why do they lay in the sun?

The heat index is 103 right now. Why are the goats laying in the driveway in the sun?

Their skin is just solar chargers for chaos machines. They're recharging.

Many breeds of goats originated in some very hot climates. My guess is that they like the warm.

they are goats, therefore, they are crazy.

Pfft, I don't even have goats, and I know the answer to that one!

I think that it also gets rid of external parasites. Like how chickens dust bathe and sun bath. Most mites and such can't take heat and sunlight.

Around here, where it is decidedly not not not hot, they spend a lot of the morning laying in the shade and the afternoon in the sun.
It's just part of the mystery that is the goat....................

My goat and llama have long figured out it is cooler in the barn. The grass gets a break when the weather is hot.
