God looking out for them...

We were hit HARD with this DeRancho storm last night, and I mean hard. ELctric sheared off the house, trees down across my DD's playhouse and swingset destroying it, tree almost across the 4 wheeler trailer, missed it by an inch and was just gently laying some branches on it while blocking (not for long, I am a total cowgirl on that 4 wheeler) us from getting the thing out at all.

Worst...

Big tree down in the goat pasture. Thanks be to God, didn't take out the barn, but HUGE mess, HUGE tree. Looks like a lightning strike, about 20 yards from the barn.

The goats were all inside, thank God, and the tree hit no one. DH went out with a flashlight to check them and they were huddled in the stall, scared to death but safe. Thank God they probably ran in there as soon as it started getting horrible.

DD is telling me to add, at least they will have enough leaves to eat for a gazillion years! They seem too freaked out by it to eat the leaves off of it yet.

Pics tomorrow.

God watched out for them, for sure.

My younger son is now in Mt. Vernon, VA, and he was out of electricity all night. Some have it worse, from what I hear!

Glad you and goaties are safe.

Glad you, your family and goats are all safe. These storms that are poppin' from the humid weather can get serious in a hurry.

We got hit like that last year too. We were without power for 10 days, had trees down all over, etc. It can be quite an emotional experience. Thank goodness you are all OK. If the whole thing starts getting to you, just go sit in the barn with your herd and spend some moments relaxing with them. That helped me. Good luck to you.
