Vent.....

I left the well water running by accident last night...all night. Now the pump is probably fried. Not working no water. Did I mention that it 10,000 degrees out! So...left hubby a message to fix it and called the pump guy cuz I know hubby won't be able to fix it. Left to go check out some hay before I purchase. There is a panic here for hay because of the lack of rain and all the hay fields being turned into corn fields because of prices. Normally I don't buy until fall when it cool out. Looked at the hay...awesome hay!!!! SOLD!@ So guess when it's being delivered...TOMORROW! So now I have to move all 60 bales I have left over from last year in the HAY LOFT to get proper rotation. did I mention it's 10,00 degrees here? Plus I have to dismantle the goat pen so the truck can get close to the barn. did I mention it's 10,000 degrees out here? And my back is killing me. So time to strap on the back brace, put on the gloves and move some hay in the hay loft that is 10,000 baggilion degrees. YES....I feel sorry for myself..
Thank you

I really really hate water well issues.

Hope it all goes smoothly getting the repair and getting your hay in place.

All I can do is give you a big ((hug)) but it might be to hot for that too . Seriously though I feel for you, we don't get many super hot days here but when we do get them I don't want to do ANYTHING outside. I hope your well issues get fixed pronto!

Don't you have a big strapping neighbor kid that needs some cash?
I'm sorry it is so hot there but you'll be so grateful for that hay this winter. I'd hug you but I'm sticky. It's kind of hot out...

Ugh. I really hate sweltering weather.

If I lived closer, I would totally come help. I'd also expect at least one adult beverage afterwards, of course.

Cool thoughts... a bag of ice... snow cones... freezer pops... ice cream.... (dang, I'm hungry!)

Yeah, it sucks to be you right now. BUT I know you can do it, Michele! AND you will be so proud of yourself when you have plenty of hay for your goaties!

(any chance you'll have water this evening so you can shower?)

I think we should ALL have an adult beverage, in honor of our dear goat sister Minelson and all her hard work!

LOVE IT!
I'm a mushmolepud. I just made that up. Throwing in the towel and getting up early tommorrow to finish when it's cooler. I almost puked I was so hot. Nothing a couple Dos Equis won't heal. and a shower. We do have Rural Water hooked up to the house. So we are carrying buckets down to the crew and I am bleaching out and throwing ice into each bucket going out.
Gotta run!

I do feel bad that you have to move all that hay by yourself & it's so hot. I'd be looking for a young neighbor that wants to make a little extra cash to move the hay for you. Too hot here too. We put 20 bales in the barn today but waiting for 2nd cutting here before we put away anymore. It always seems when it's time to do hay here it's sweltering heat!

Hope you had a couple adult beverages before bed & the well isn't going to be that big a deal to fix.

Go get a nice stack of clean dish towels. Soak them, wring them out so they're not drippy and stick them in the freezer.

SOOOO nice on the back of your neck as you work!! And to just rub on your face and arms when you get hot.
It will make it go much easier. I wish I was there to help.

And I also wish i could find someone who would deliver square bales!! I must admit to being a little jealous there. It's a hundred degrees here, but I think I'd manage a little happy dance - right before I keeled over from heat exhaustion!

You are the only other person I have ever heard call it an adult beverage. Sometimes I will mix one of my favorite drinks and it almost looks like chocolate milk on ice but my kids know if it has ice in the chocolate milk it is mommmy's adult beverage.

Please don't take this the wrong way but I laughed at BF and hubbie planning a trip with his parents to South Dakota as their family vacation as the grandparents had just taken the other kids to georgia and it had been so hot they said they wanted to go north on this trip to get cool so I texted her and the mother in law the weather for your area. The replies I got were not nice so I think they may wait the heat out here and hopefully head north when there is a break in the weather later in the summer.

I am totally Jealous of the awesome hay hard to come by around here without mortaging the house to buy it. This is normal for us. Was out for 3 hours with my first problematic goat birth last night and friend that was helping me ended up having to be taken to the hospital for rehydration after passing out, thank goodness her hubbie is the police officer on duty last night that was ne quick trip to hospital.

SO EVERYONE in the middle of the US dealing with this HUGE heat dome that they say is just gonna sit here for a while remember water, breaks, and keeping your self cool as much as possible when out in this temps. My 8 year old is only allowed outside in 10 minute intervals with supervision, he is heat sensitive as are 2 of my other children they will wilt in no time at all due to heat, watching your child's eyes roll back and his legs buckle is scary. SO EVERYONE REMEMBER to take break and keep hydrated.

Well, I won't offer hugs because it is too hot, but if I was there, I would help and I would spray you off with the hose.

Hay in the heat- it prickles and makes you so grimy. Yuck.
Hope you have a quick pump repair. Or at least a long hose.
I put timers on my trough filling spigot after I drained a 2500 gallon tank once. That an a scrunchie on the spigot handle to slide onto my wrist as a reminder have kept me from doing it again.
