sold the bully

I fought for some time now, of whether or not to sell one doe. I have way too much milk, and hay has gone up. this doe was from a pretty high end line, but she was pretty rough on the other 2 smaller does.

she left yesterday morning, today the other 2 gave more milk and the barn is peaceful. ahhh. hubs thought she was the best one we had, I disagreed. wonder how long it'll take him to notice she's gone?!

its amazing to me how much hay was left too. that doe ate like ahorse. the man who bought her had big beefy hands, so he didn't have near the trouble milking her as I did.

its always terribly hard for me to sell, but this morning's quiet and peaceful barn said I done good!

I love that feeling when you know you got rid of a trouble maker. I did that earlier this year and the whole barn breathed a sigh of relief. The doe was fine for me to handle and was no bother to people but was a terror on her fellow goat friends.

yup, that was this gal too. she was a dang good looking goat, huge, she was NOT a 'cull' animal. just didn't play well with others! I was just so shocked at the barn atmosphere this morning, I had to post.

I know I stewed that decision for months. I hope my little story here helps someone else decide faster! now I have still plenty of milk for my uses, and my does have a roomier barn, and its just so quiet. ahhhh!

There is always a herd queen but there are some goats that are just bossier than others.
It's a great feeling to walk around the barn & everythings so peaceful, the animals all know it too & that's why I'm guessing you got more milk this morning too.

I agree I hate it when there is a bully, that is the 1 that is the first sold no matter what as I have had 1 that was a bully and when the other were kidding she just loved to disturb them to where it did cause some problems with another goat. When she left it was the hugest sigh from the goat pen I have ever heard.
Also she was a hog also with hay or grain. After she sloughed her babies I said that was it and she was gone...dont even miss her at all..
