Weaning bottle babies

We went from 5 to 4 bottles a day and 4 to 3 a day no problem...but 3 to 2 a day!! They are driving me crazy! I wanted to do 7 am and 7 pm but we can't make it that long. so it's more like 5 pm....they are eating. browsing, drinking water fine Alf pellets, and don't look thin to me. But I wonder if it's too soon. They are around 2 months old. Pony gets 12 ozs and Tinker gets 8 ozs twice a day.

To go down to only two bottles a day? I must be mean because mine drop down to two bottles a day at 4-5wks mini or standard . But then again mine get as much as they want up to 32oz of milk at a time.

Minelson could you give them maybe a bit more milk twice a day and see how that goes?

Well all the gosh darn charts get me all messed up! Plus pony is so much bigger...but yet younger...The chart I have been going by says 45 -75 days go to two. Now after typing that I see ther is a 30 difference. Off to heat up some bottles!

They are always going to try to get more bottles out of you. They will cry, bump into your knees and etc. You have to stay tough when going down on bottles.
Each change takes days to a week for them to get use to.
I always increase the milk by a few oz when I take away a bottle.

At 2 and a half months you can go down to two per day. At 3 months you can give one bottle per day till they hit 4 months old if you want to bottle them that long. I wean at 4 months and trust me by the time I get to the that point they can cry and chase me all they want but I am so over it they get weaned.

The last daily bottle is a morning bottle since I find it easier to stay inside at night to avoid them Then as they come running screaming at me in the morning I toss a handful of alfalfa pellets at them and keep on walking. Sure for hte first week they whine and complain a bit but they get over it.

I'm at 2 feedings a day for the 8 week olds. 5 of them get a gallon and a half in the lambar at each feeding, so they're each getting about 1/3 of a gallon twice per day. No wonder they're fat-fatties.
