Plant identity and safe for goats

My chicken coop has gone to the weeds since I have let the few chickens I had free range. However I had a broody hatch out 19 chicks so I need to recoop all the chickens ( getting tired of chicken poo). 6 I can handle 24 I will not. But the coop has become a forest this plant has taken over thinking about letting a few of the younger goats a wether and a buckling and a couple of hold over doelings in there foe 1 to 2 hours a day to try and eat it down before I take the machette to the stalks. The stalks are probably 3 to 4 inches across at the base.

No clue what that is. Take some to the County Extension office and get it identified.

Then, look here:

I agree with Lamb's quarters. Do they look sort of "powdery" at the base of the leaves? Delicious "weed"! I cook them for supper a lot with bacon grease and apple cider vinegar.

that would be lambs quarter. Its not only edible for your goats, but its edible for you too! I eat it a lot, as it grows like crazy. Eat it up!
