What's Biting My Goats

The last few days my gang has been scratching and biting. I cannot see anything on them. I dusted them all with Co-Ral and they're still "buggy." No fur missing/bald spots except for an 8 week old kid with some hair off her ear from where she was scratching. What is this? Some kind of mite? And what would work on it?

I have little gnats that are eating mine alive. I can't shave udders or they're a raw bleeding mess the next day. I asked my vet what helps and he snorted and laughed. You could try fly spray if you think gnats are the problem.

I have noticed lately while mine are grazing that something is biting them. They act more goofy than normal (nubians), like slide down the hill on their bellies, bite at their udders, and jump randomly then bite at the area.. They only do this in the tall weeds, I cant figure out what it is..

Could be mosquitos, gnats, flies, No see Um's. I use the Ultra EX from TSC in the equine section to spray on them for flies, mosquitos, etc. I haven't read the label though to make sure it's safe to drink their milk after using it, I'm not milking any of mine for our home consumption other than saving it for soap. Check TSC website & it should give the label directions there, it's in a black bottle. It works the best I've found so far & last about 2 weeks between spraying.

Lice usually aren't usually a problem this time of year when the weather gets warm but not sure if mites are the same. I've only every had a problem with mites in the winter months here.
