Liquidating Herd ... Tips?

I'm probably going to need to sell almost all my goats. Long story short, I have some health problems that are not going to go away, including dystonia and spasticity secondary to herniated cervical disks (herniate inwards and pushed on my spinal cord) and bilateral brachial neuritis caused by the dystonia.

Anyway .... big words ... at this point, the bottom line is, I don't really have much use of my arms.

My lumbar spine is totally messed up as well, and I have arthritis in my hips and ankles, and suspected osteomalacia (adult rickets) due to kidney problems, and I'm just a mess. I'm 36 -- this is due to genetic health issues that have hit critical mass. I've got heart problems too, all related.

Yeah, I'd like some cheese with that whine ...

I need to sell them quickly. I want them to go to good homes. I've tried to find a rescue I thought was trustworthy to take them; haven't seen one yet I liked. Don't want to take them to auction -- the only auction around here is basically for the meat buyers. I've tried putting flyers up and I've tried Craigs List (for whatever reason, my listing got pulled right after I posted it ...) and I've tried word of mouth.

They're healthy, nicely built, Nigerians and Nigie kids. Shouldn't be hard to find homes for them, right?

Sigh. I've tried everything but parking my butt down at the feed store with a truck full of goats, and haven't done that because I don't think I could even get everyone in the truck before collapsing ...

Where are you located? I have people here looking for Nigie Kids & I've already sold mine.
Wondering if you were close enough I could pass the phone numbers off to you.

Cygnet..you are someone that I respect and always "go to" for my poultry help. And I thank you for that.

I am beyond sorry for the health issues that you are going through and I know giving up your goats would not be an easy thing.

It might help if you list where abouts you are and/or what kind of prices you are looking at.

I wish you well Cygnet.

I'm in Arizona -- about 30 miles south of Phoenix. I could also deliver to the Payson area. I live a couple of miles north of I-8. I can't ship by air, unfortunately. It's too hot now.

Kids were born in February and dam raised. I have four doelings and a wether to place. They are not registered, but nicely put together and healthy. They're flighty but I've had good luck taming dam raised kids down. Potato chips always help. ;-) One doe is a grand old lady who I may keep if I can't find somebody to love her; the other is a really nicely put together two year old.

Sherry -- I'm down to one chicken, believe it or not. I haven't been able to catch her and she roosts under the house. She's free to the first person who can catch her ... thanks for the kind words, though. I miss the birds.

I wish you were closer, there are a couple families that called me & are looking for doelings for 4H.
I would try a craigs list ad again. Be very specific & give details about what you have, a starting price for each if you have a lower price for 1 or the other, maybe offer a discount if they take the milkers together, etc.
Just trying to help with ideas. I wish there were more I could do to help.
I too wish you the best of luck in placing your goats, I'm sure they are really nice. I also hope you feel better & get some relief from all the pain you must feel some days.

I sure wish I was close enough, but unfortunately I couldn't go that for. I would love to have a couple nigie milkers for my small pen.
