Little Fuzz is changing color!?!?!?!?

Here's a picture I posted of Fuzz and Cookie a week or so ago. I noticed last night that Fuzz is getting a bunch of black hair near her belly. I looked through her hair and noticed that, underneath the brown, is black hair coming in! Is this normal for them to change colors so drastically?!?!?!

She is a chamoisee and will darken up on her "points", meaning her head, legs and underbelly may all darken.

Even her sides have dark hair under the brown. It got me wondering about Cookie. When we took her back to the breeder last fall to get her bred, the breeder's boys were all confused and said that wasn't Cookie...that Cookie was brown and not black and white. I just thought that was odd, but maybe I should ask the breeder if Cookie WAS brown when she was a baby.

Cookie is not a Chamoisee. With her having that black of a neck, I don't think she would have changed that much.

Little Fuzz is changing color!?!?!?!?

I was hoping for something more dramatic when I saw the title. You know, like purple. She's still a cute color.
GoldenWood Farm likes this.

I'm tempted to get after her with the clippers and see what's under there!

Your goats look so happy and well cared for. I don't know anything about color. But I know well made, well treated animals when I see 'em!
