question about goat in labor

Goat in labor water broke. Only see one foot but other is about an inch or two back can't see but can feel. Both front feet. She just doesn't seem to be pushing very hard.No vets around for goats so am on my own. The neighbor will help if needed when she returns from the dentist. So I guess my question is how long should she be in labor before I need to be really worrying. I'm a basket case now.She is a new to me goat about 5 years old and has kidded before with no problems.

Tie her up, scrub up, and go in now. The longer you wait, the worse the situation is likely to get. Feel for a nose. If you cannot feel a nose....then make sure that both front feet belong to the same kid. If they are and the head is back and you cannot grasp it by the lower jaw and bring it forward, then push it all back in and see it you can pull something out by the back legs. The spine of the kid needs to be facing up. If the first kid is big and hard to reposition, sometimes getting the other one out makes more room. Good luck and please get back to us if you run into more problems!

Give her a dose of CMPK if you have it it will help with a sluggish labor. But yes go in now.

One big buckling so far. Had to pull him, felt like he was hanging on not wanting to come into the light of day.He has nice big horn buds already. Letting mom rest, hoping for a little sister for him. I know it didn't happen without pictures, but I don't have a camera. I will see if my son can take piks with his cell phone. Thanks for the suggestions.

If she is all tired out, she might need help. I would want to be checking for another kid just in case. If a kid dies in there, the dam has a really hard time getting it out herself...and let me tell you, you do not want to be pulling a dead kid in a day or three, P.U.!

Just the buckling. Was hoping for a doeling, but as long as April and May Weather are fine that is the most important. Weather was terrible until after he was born and then the sun came out and the rest of the day was beautiful, hence his name.
