Hoeggers is awesome.
I was going to give you their link, but my computer just went crazy on me and blocked their website. Search the name- Hoegger's Goat Supply.

I use a 6qt stainless steel stock pot for my milk bucket. Works great and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I did buy the mini strainer from Hoegger. And mini filters. Works great.

I also love hoegger's dairy soap, sanitizer, acid wash.

I'm not yet sure about Caprine Supply.
See my product review post.

I don't really care for Caprine Supply or Hoegger.

Caprine Supply is very expensive by my standards and also you have to sign up and remember a password to order anything off their website. I only order from them maybe once every couple of years and I find that annoying.

Hoegger I used to love but in the last 10 or 15 years they never seem to be able to get my order right.

I have a finnish hooded pail that I bought at Hoegger back in the 80's I love.

In general I think almost any dairy supplies and goat supplies can be ordered cheaper thru other sources, you are paying for the convenience of having them all in one place with the goat supply houses.

Lots of your local feed/farm stores sell in the pet section a seamless stainless steel bucket used for raw feeding animals. These are fantastic for using to milk in....seamless so no bacteria gets into cracks you can't clean...stainless so it doesn't rust...light so they are easy to handle.
Buy the biggest milk filter you can afford...I have a large one from Caprine supply and a small one from Hoegger both are good for certain things...during full production the big one is irreplaceable. During drying off times or milking a single doe the small one is great as the filters are inexpensive and it's not as much to clean.

Tractor Supply has them for like 6 bucks. In the dog section, gallon sized. I also have a 2 gallon stainless steel compost bucket with a lid that I ordered from Amazon that I use when milking more than one doe. Can't remember the exact price but it was under $20.00.

I ordered the mini filter from either Caprine Supply or Hoegger, and strain directly into my jars. I always compare prices on both sites. Some things are a bit less on CS, and vice versa. I have been very happy with the service and products from both sites.

Ok, this may sound wierd and I do not have my goats yet so.... it is just a thought but what about coffee filters? Is that something you could use as a filter? You can get them anywhere and they are cheap. You could even double up on them and still have a cheap filter with out ordering and paying shipping etc..I have been looking at the sites listed above and man they are pretty $$. I am going to have to start saving!

You can. That is what I did at first. Coffee filters and rubber bands. It works, but it is very slow in comparison. I found my mini strainer and filters to be a good investment (I think that the strainer was around 14.00). A box of filters lasts me forever. Some people use cloth, and that might be faster than the coffee filters, I have not tried it though.

Squeaky prettnear all of us store in glass jars. Half gal the best for ease of handling compared to gallon ones.

I tried paper coffee fillter once, too s l o o o w w w. I'll spend the almost 6 bucks for real milk filters thank you very much.

I use a mini strainer and small filters and filter into a widemouth glass canning jar. I have NDs so I use a double boiler top for my milking bucket. It is perfect!
