feeling sad

we had a new baby born to a FF we raised he was so pretty she cleaned him off and got him up to nurse he found the teat and nursed
the mama did not take him in the barn with the others last night we found him dead this morning he had one puncture wound on his side between the shoulder blade and first rib we are thinking owl and mama scared it off before it could do any more damage
she just stands there crying for him makes me feel so bad that we didn't make sure they were in the barn

I'm so sorry for your loss; it would make me feel very sad, too.
