Who says goats aren't smart?

Well, some of them, anyway. Blossom and Sawbuck are 2 of this years kids and they really like getting to play together. They usually ignore the others and play their own little games.

I saw Blossom stop on top of a fire ant hill and told her that wasn't too good of an idea, but she ignored me. In a second, she stomped when one bit her, and stomped and stomped (still on the mound ) I headed over and she finally jumped out of it and ran a little way off, still stomping. She wouldn't let me catch her to get them off but kept running away from me. DH had sat back down in his "observation chair" that he likes to sit out with the goats in the evenings so they can play with him. Sawbuck ran up and jumped in his lap and started rubbing DH's chest. He hopped off as I walked up and DH said "He called somebody!" Sure enough, Sawbuck had somehow managed to make a call on DH's phone in his shirt pocket that was supposed to have the keypad locked to stop pocket dialing. I took the phone and said "Sorry, wrong number" and hung up.

The phone rang. I looked at who was calling and answered. "Hello, this is County 911, we just received a call from this number?" "Ummmm, yes, ma'am, that was my goat"

Do you know how small you feel saying that? And do you know she didn't crack up laughing? At least not while I was still on the phone...

His little friend was getting bitten and so apparently he decided it was an emergency... He wanted to be her white knight...

Kids!

I had this happen, Rocky took my phone out of my back pocket and ran off into the pasture. Daring me to come get it, I chased him for awhile and then gave up. Rocky dropped my phone out in the pasture, the phone starts ringing and it was my sister. "What is going on? I can here you yelling at the goat." Well, we still LOL over that one.

This sounds like something Minelson's Gretta would do.

I wonder if we would have had police and an ambulance if he had took off with it? He did it all through DH's shirt LOL Luckily, DH heard it ringing on the other end and realized he had called.

Yes, the Fire Department, Police and everyone else would have been here if Rocky had dialed 911. It took me 15-20 minutes to get the phone back. I would have hated to say, "Do you see that goat out in the pasture with my phone. He dialed you, not me." Not, going to be a LOL moment.

Since I am their personal assistant and chef, I doubt they'll ever be motivated to put forth that much effort... <sigh> And it's not like they care about the other animals. Now those pigs.... Where is my statement?!?!
