oh this little goat is going to be the death of me.

Chime a week or so ago did this strange I am going to act off and worry you to death thing. Help/thoughts with one of the new babies You can read it there.

So today I go to turn them out and shes doing it again. I have to leave in an hour to go with the honey to a dr appt. (she had to do it today) and get feed. The only thing I can think of is she is pigging out on hay. She is the only one who is acting off. I took her temp and it is 102.2 totally normal. My question is can they have pneumonia without a fever? She is not all stoved up looking just acts like her legs wont work and A LOT of tag wagging. She is pooping with a little string in it so worms, belly ache? I hate hate hate to give her meds if she doesnt need it.

If I have a young goat who is just "off" and I can't find any hard evidence, I give Nuflor. Nine times out of ten they are perfectly fine by the second dose(I give it for the three days in a row dose). I really think that sometimes "walking pnuemonia" doesn't even give them a temp. I almost never give antibiotics......but in these cases(maybe one a year....maybe), its worth it.
With Nuflor I always give Banamine.

Nuflor is a RX correct? If so I will have to call the vet because all I have is excenel right now.

She is totally normal right now. Acting like her normal self. I swear this little girl is driving me nuts. So you think I should do some nuflor and banamine? Like I said in my other post she is the best one we have here and I do not want to loose her. I have a lot of money and love more love then money tied up into this little goat.

Up to you, I just go with my gut. If you aren't sure yet, watch closely and act on those gut feelings.
Yes, Nuflor is RX.

Donna, that sounds really similar to my little doeling. Also a keeper, of course, sigh. She is not acting totally wrong/awful/sick, has a normal temp, but is just off. Like she is slower than usual and just not quite right, but nothing I can put my finger on. Eating and nursing like a champ, but not bouncy/sproingy like usual. Of course, mine developed diarrhea this morning

Wish I had advice to offer, but I've got a post looking for the same. Hope we both get our babies over whatever they are going through and stop pulling our hair out! I am wondering if I should be calling my vet for Nuflor too, but I don't think he'll give it to me without coming out and doing an exam for $100+ that I can't afford
