Meet my new Herdsire

The breeder decided to keep the buck that I had originally chosen as my first choice, but I think I found an excellent second choice.

Went to a great workshop yesterday, and came home with my adorable new herdsire! I spent more money than I could afford... but I think and hope that having his genetics in my herd will be worth the splurge! Alpine experts, tell me what you think (and be honest!)

No offense meant to nubian lovers here, but I think (it would appear) I am converting to alpine-ism.

Oh what a little beauty he is! I am in Love with him. Did you pick a name for him yet?
First thing I thought was Murphy, not that you need my 2 cents.

Thanks! I have high hopes for him, his breeder has some great producers and is heavily pasture based, feeding less grain than most commercial dairies. She had some really sharp looking animals.

We already have a Murphy (Mama red's wethered buckling) but I do love that name! I am thinking about calling him Oden...

Gorgeous! I think Alpines are the prettiest, after Lamanchas.
