Privet- safe or not?

We are putting some goats into a new pasture. One whole side of it has privet bushes growing through the fence. Is privet going to hurt the goats, or is it safe for them to nibble? It's about the only shade there is at the moment, there, until I put some trees outside the fence.
I've already cut the few choke cherry trees out of it, and am watching for new shoots.

My goats eat it. I have heard it's poisonous, so I wouldn't want that to be the only green thing around, but my goats have eaten a descent amount of it with no ill effects.

Obviously I heard it was poisonous AFTER my goats had eaten it for a long time. I've even cut it and fed it to them.

Thanks!
I just found this. Can goats eat privet bush?
I should have searched first, lol.
The privet is the only shade, but we have some fantastic tall pasture for them. They'll get plenty to eat, and I've always done free choice hay, no matter how much pasture they have.
