any body in Souther MO. have......
a doeling or a wether left for sale???? I have a buyer wanting to buy Gloomy's daughter, Poe.. we only had 7 bucklings total (18 doelings) this year.. I'm totally OUT of kids... nothing to sell her as a companion (and I won't let her go alone).. I just sent her an email asking if she'd be okay with something OTHER then a nubian.. while waiting for her to respond.. thought I post here (and maybe be able to help someone move an extra wether or maybe even sell a doeling.. CAE neg (but I don't think she'll care if it's reg. or purebred)... I think she'll provide an excellent home. Poe was born mid march, so someone with in a couple weeks of her age would work best.

I wish I could say I was sold out of boys! I am happy to have sold 7 of the 14 but I am only halfway there
I do not sell singles either, not fair to the goat. Some people just do not understand that and get annoyed, I am ok with losing a sale to them.

I have two more does due to kid in May. One of them is HUGE, and she had three as a FF last year.
She's Saanen/LaMancha and bred back the same way. Expecting white with elf ears.

sounds perfect .. EXCEPT.... if I keep Poe until May.. she is staying here.. I already WANT to keep her, but this buyer was one of my last to contact me folks and there weren't enough kids to go around (I like her and finally decided to offer her one of my own *keeper* kids... BUT.. she HAS to find a close in age *friend* and SOON LOL.. or miss Poe will just remain here (with her lovely head and her mother/grandmother & greatgrandmother's wonderful ears.. She is a Jenna great grand doe)

I have one buck for sale left. He is beautiful and out of Forrest-Pride LL Snowbird. I hate to have him wethered, but can do so. He was born about 3/7/12 and is already 35#. Just had his second CDT and started his second round of Corid this week.
I do have a really, super sweet wether that was born last year. He has been a buck companion, but now I have enough other bucks that I could sell him. He was originally destined for freezer camp, but his temperament is too much like his dam's and we can't butcher him, he is just too good natured. I would sell him to a good home.
We are CAE negative, test annually.

I haven't heard back from her yet, to see if she is willing to go non-nubian (I know she wants this doeling and may go with a wether to get to buy her)>>>BUT.. I don't know if the wether would be kept as a companion for good or just until she finds another doe... so I'd hate to wether a nice boy and have his end up as dinner.... A yearling (wether or doe) is too big to go in with this little doe.. she's not yet a month old..

After I posted, I thought maybe a yearling would be too big. I missed that Poe was born mid-March - but didn't really think before I posted about the wether.
Yeah, if Snow's guy would end up as dinner, he is really too nice to wether. This year's crop bucks has been the one of nicest we have ever had.

I've got a couple march kids. I have an ADGA grade doeling and her brother. They are very nice kids, mom is 75% lamancha, 25% nubian and their sire is purebred nubian (Dixie and Gus on my website). Both have nubian heads, the doelings is actually a pretty decent nubian head. I haven't had the time to get nice pics and try to get them sold, or at leas the doeling. The buckling will be meat if not sold. These are very dairy looking kids, red with white ears.

Ashley... how much do you want for the doeling??? Just talked to Chris (Coso).. he has a couple lamancha wethers that would work.. but in case she would rather have a doeling, I'll get your price too..before I write her again.

Yarrow, she's $200.
Dam has a very nice udder/conformation too. Don't know how she's milking though, just letting the kids have it so far.

ah... I didn't realize she was being dam raised.. this lady is looking for another bottle kid (the doeling she is wanting to buy from me..is out of my solid black Cream-of-Kansas' x Amberwood doe, Gloomy)...the kid is lovely (I know I'm going to end up kicking myself for selling her.. BUT... I kept six other doelings, plus the doeling I got from Emily... PLUS I have 1st doe reserved from an Amberwood doe.. the kids were all so nice this year.. it was really hard to pick who to keep/who to sell.. (coupled with having so many girls born).. it was a WONDERFUL problem to have
I'm going to try and sell her on one of Chris' Lamancha wethers...

If you know someone coming remotely close to Indiana, we can save you the trouble and just buy Poe. We have another mid-March Nubian she can be best buddies with.

Oh I put them on bottles all the time so it's not a problem if she does want the doe. I usually give them some colostrum in a bottle at the start so they will take to them easier later.
I have had the same problem. I told myself I could only keep two does this year and so far I'm keeping 4... have one more nubian to kid... I want her to have a doe, but then I don't!

ROFLOL! Too bad I want to hang on to my "extra" doeling, English Rose Tyler (she started out for sale but follows me around. She stole my heart and gets to stay) and the buckling & wether won't work! We are about 10 minutes from Nevada!

When I found out his next job was back in MO.. I was all whiny about having to drive 3hours each way to the airport.. for him to get to Portland, load and drive right back... he goes EVERYWHERE in the US & Canada.. EXCEPT the ozarks (it's RARE that he moves someone to this area... I think it's cause all us Ozark-ians, ain't about to pay Allied prices for someone to move our stuff so this is one of those rare times where he'll be home (with the truck) and I actually have a kid for sale!!! YEARS upon YEARS I wished he'd be home to help haul kids to new homes.. now I have ONE and he is coming home LOL.

Some of us are so close to each other(I'm about an hour from Nevada-I live 40 minutes east of Lamar) and I know I'm fairly close to yarrow, Pony etc....
We need to do a meet up!

Me too. I'm only a few miles from Yarrow as the crow flies but since the crow didn't lay out our roads, it's more like 20 miles.
Sue (7 miles southeast of Mammoth Spring, AR, but about 2 miles south of the MO-AR state line.
We should all meet up in West Plains some time. It's fairly central (about 30 miles from here).
