Talking Our Friday the 13th babies!

So Agnes (our Whey-to-go saanen) decided to kid on Friday the 13th. We were just about ready to load up our steers to take them to the butcher and I thought to check on her (she'd been talking to me ALL morning, so I thought she was getting closer) and then there was goo!!! I told my hubby "We aren't going anywhere! There are babies coming!" She kidded beautiful twins, it went really smooth for our first time. SO much better then I'd expected!

The babies are doing great. They seem to have milk neck? But I saw/felt this at day 2 (not 7 days per Fiasco). Is that odd? It's not hard (iodine deficiency). They are eating well and bouncing all over the place. Unfortunately I'd only had Agnes for about 4 weeks prior to kidding, so I don't have a lot of knowledge about her prenatal care. Any input here?

Oh silly me!!! We have one doe "Cadee" (it means pure) and one buck "Henry" -- these goats are actually my mama's but a part of our herd here.

Congratulations on your first babies! They are adorable!
I do believe the lumps on the neck they can be born with & that they are from iodine deficiency.

I can't thank you enough for sharing these pics. I'm a bit blue and nostalgic today, my old Saanen girl Weezie is definitely slowed down. I know I don't have many days or weeks left with her..and these pics reminded me of her when we first met.

Happy belated birthday Caliann!!! And Katie, I just don't see any other symptoms of iodine deficiency...and they weren't palpable at birth. Just going to keep a close eye on them and see.

Sherry, so glad these babies could bring you joy!! Love our saanens.
