The only time we use the cattle pour on is topically on the heels if they get heel mites.
For the Ivermectin injectable we do that orally @1cc pr 50#.

Here is a link with the different wormers & there dosages. I have not used the pour on so I hope it's in the link. What % of medication is in the wormer you have?

Thanks all. I have the injectable also. I will use that orally. I am just trying to get another wormer into the rotation to avoid resistance.

If you already have the Ivermectin injectable & want a different wormer for rotation I would go with the Cydectin Pour On & give it orally. It is a cattle wormer.

Sorry. I wasn't clear. I have the injectable on hand because I use it for heartworm prevention for the dogs. I have never used ivermectin on the goats at all.. I have been rotating sure guard and cydectin. I will add the injectable orally to the rotation.

Wormers for goats and sheep should always be given orally.

They are much more effective that way

Ditto what Alice said. Follow the dosages given in the worms/wormers link.

Reminder: very few dewormers are tested or labeled for goats. There is not enough profit potential for the companies to spend research dollars on goat tests. We use these products "off label." Therefore, we rely on experience of other goat owners for dosage, etc.

And many people wonder why animal health products that work well and cheaply are removed from the market.
