Pics...lots of them
Brought home our new goats the other day. I have been so busy and tired since we brought them home and of course the weather decided to be cold and icky right at that time. But yesterday turned off both sunshiney and beautiful, so I got some pics.
We let the babies out of their baby pen and they immediately took off running with my youngest.
Clayton (human kid) loving on Epic. That is my mother sitting in the chair with a cushion to help ward off lap attacks by the babies. They like to make running leaps into our laps. Even Epic tried it.
CrossRoads End Epic Fantasy, my beautiful new herdsire.
Epic and Katie running together
Kiss and Buddy running with Molly
Kiss in the cube
more in a second...

My beautiful Bella (Lady Antebellum)
Pepper says, "Look at all of the people on HT!"
Bella and Pepper sharing hay (Bella is Pepper's daughter)
We moved the babies to the doe pen yesterday afternoon. We put the cube in there so the babies could play in it. Um...Bella, you aren't a baby.
You won't fit through there Bella.
She agrees and goes around

Meanwhile the babies are off doing other things
Kiss
Kiss and Buddy looking over the hoop shelter
Epic around the spools
Buddy
Buddy takes the cube much to Bella's disgust
Kiss takes the cube
and holds her ground (Pepper seems confused. Bella's babies look a lot like her babies)
And one of the Clayton

How fun! Everyone looks so good & happy!
Glad Epic & Peeps are settling in so well. Clayton is adorable, as usual! I love the last pic of him especially!

Thanks!
When we put the babies in the pen, Epic tried to nurse from Peeps, but she wasn't having it. But, she seems really confused over Bella's babies and talks to them and tries to get their attention. They ignore her and bounce around the pen like wild indians.
Clayton has so much fun with the babies and he loves Epic.
Missy, with her naturally curly winter coat half shed out, looks rather moth eaten, but she will shed out and be beautiful in another month.

Joy looks a real mess right now. We are waiting on copper to arrive, since Dd13 forgot Joy's dose, so actually she is scruffy from shedding and faded from copper deficiency. Everyone else, even Monks, is starting to look better finally.
Poor Peeps. Bella's babies really do look like Pepper's babies. They are beauiful! I love the flashy black & white - but I really love the flashy black & white with the brown highlights!!

Yeah, I really like the brown highlights on Kiss and Buddy too.
Nubilop Acres Mystique Cricket is their sire's grandmother. I think you can see where the coloring came from. Which is what I was really hoping for when I bred Bella to their sire.
Sassy Cricket is their sire's aunt

Thanks! Bella does love the cube, even if she does look ridiculous in it.
Epic is such a well built, beautiful buckling. I couldn't be more pleased with him. Thank you again, Betsy for letting us have such a striking boy. Beyond being beautiful, he is a very special link for us. His dam is Taela, sister to Rio who went to Nehi. His sire is Ronan, the son of Tally (also to Nehi) and the handsome BigWig who we were unable to buy back. His aunt is Joy (owned by Betsy) and his great aunt is Hershey (also to Nehi)It's like having our old herd, all rolled into one goat. He even has BigWig's tiny white spot in the exact same place on his side. He is a very special boy to us and already much loved.

I appreciate that you let us retain Legend when he had been promised to you along with Epic. We are already plotting which girls get to meet Legend next year. I love the chocolate color and the calm disposition. Taela/Ronan is a definite repeat breeding. Maybe next year I will get my doeling.

Thanks, Suzy!
Betsy, I think you will be as happy with Legend as I am with Epic. Taela and Ronan definitely made a great cross.

The brown LaMancha is Missy. She is Bigwig's full littermate sister. She is full of mischief. She is the reason we have an extra lock on the gate to the doe pen. Beyond being goofy and wonderful she is also the herd queen and a very good one too. Keeps order in the herd very well.
