Drying off?

I am working on drying off Cubbie and Scully since they got bred accidentally...well Cubbie was an accident-DH just didn't ask before he put the buck in with Scully grrr-anyway, how do y'all dry them up? DH has told me how to do it but he's no expert so I thought I'd come here and ask

Just stop milking. No grain, don't let them near a milk stand and keep an eye on them. If you have been milking, they might need to have some eased out after a few days, but unless they are ready to leak when they lay down I try not to touch the udder.

I just milk a little less everyday until I'm not milking at all. Her body knows when demand is down and will start making less. I've also done the milk twice a day, then once a day, then every other day then none.

Thank you. The was KrisD does it is how DH said, kinda. I've got a month or so before I really need to start but I want to make sure I do it right so that it doesn't cause them trouble or infection.

What I do know is when I was weaning my son if someone made me stop cold turkey I would have knocked them out. My boobs hurt so bad when they were full that I could NOT do that to another creature on purpose. I've never had problems drying them up slowly and I know they are not suffering because of it.
