milk from preemie mom

she's a big doe, always a good producer of tons of milk. she's been fresh over 2 weeks now, only giving a quart at most, 2xday. sound right? or am I wasting my time?

I have a Saanen/LaMancha/Alpine cross FF who fell and kiddied a dead premie. She's about a month into lactation now, and I'm getting just over a half gallon a day from her. I'm going to continue milking, even though I figure she would have done better if she'd gone full term. Remember.... lactation won't peak till she's about three months fresh.

She's getting just about the same as you are feeding.

She also gets an herbal lactation supplement.
