What should Copasure look like?

I just received my first ever shipment of Copasure boluses. Broke one open to dose it down and it does NOT look like the pretty pictures of copper colored rods I've seen some people post. Instead, I see gray/silver rods - looks like broken pencil lead. I do see a few copper colored threads in it. Perhaps it is just oxidized?

Yep, sounds right. It's not copper colored at all.

Quote from my husband: " I worked in metalurgy for 15 years and you had to ask a bunch of strangers that?" Sorry, honey, these are my babies we're talking about and I had to ask the people that know!!
