They are a special, brand new breed out of MSU....which is why no one has ever heard of them before. They ONLY can be found in Missouri. However, this poor, Missouri poster is out of luck, because Hair Goats are very, VERY rare, since they are a brand, new breed, and are therefore really, REALLY costly. They need to talk to their local Extension Office to see is MSU has released any to the public yet.

/END sarcasm

There could be money in this if you are the first to offer them for sale.

I've been having a wonderful email exchange with this lady. She quilts and gardens, and she wants to learn to spin and make her own fabrics for quilts. She's about to move farther out in the country, and they are building a home/studio/shop/barn.

Neat lady.

Yes, she's just getting into the idea of spinning (and brush control on their new place.)

Alice, I love that you email them to find out what they really mean and therefore can educate them some!

The Angora goat (Turkish: Ankara keçisi) is a breed of domestic goat that originated in Ankara, Turkey (the name "Angora" being a corruption of "Ankara"), and its surrounding region in central Anatolia. Angora goats produce the lustrous fibre known as Mohair.
