thin doe

i have a nubian x boer doe. About a month ago she kidded (2 dead). She is eating good and is active with the herd, but is very thin.

She was wormed around the first of the year and a second worming was done about 2 weeks later (ivomec).

2 weeks before kidding I gave her her CD&T shot and BoCe.

I am thinking about seprating her from the herd, just at feeding time. Also I may feed her some BOSS. Is the BOSS fed in the shell or do you feed BOSS seed?

Should I re-worm?

Any other ideas?

Thanks

check a fecal. Even with the earlier worming the worms can really take off right after kidding.

I always worm right after they kid, as it's a stress on them. Then do so again about three weeks later. Boss is fed in the shell, they'll crunch them right up.

I have a doe that was a bit on the thin side when she was bred last year, is a great milker, and looks like she has saddle bags sticking out the side now, so will be pretty thin after she kids this week. Just don't expect miracles quickly. If you are milking the doe, it takes a lot out of them. Good luck.

I am not milking her. I will fed her the BOSS, apart from the herd. I will have a fecal done.
