I assume these are ADGA registered goats then?
If so, when you purchased the bred doe, she should have come with either a registration/recordation paper with ADGA or an application for registration/recordation with ADGA. The current owner should have filled out the bottom of the paper for her to be transferred to your ownership if she is already registered/recorded.. ADGA's papers are either blue or brown and have a special pink circle on them that disappears when breathed on or your finger placed over it. The signature of the seller is the most important part of that bottom section, without it (and your information filled in above it) the doe cannot be transferred into your ownership and the resulting kids cannot be registered/recorded with ADGA with the dam listed.
To transfer the dam(s)- You make sure that information is complete. Then print out
this page. You will mark the transfer section and pay the appropriate fees [depends on when you purchased the doe(s)]. You will send their registration/recordation paper(s), that sheet and the fees to ADGA. Once those papers are returned with you listed as the owner you can move forward with registering the kid(s).
I *always* make copies of everything I send in to ADGA (or any other registry for that matter).
To register/record the kids you will then need
either of the forms on this page.
You will fill them out as I outlined above. The herdname on the kids must be the herdname of the breeder (the person who bred the buck and doe together). The tattoos for the ears will be your herd tattoo numbers since the kid was born on your arm.
If you do not have a herd sequence assigned to you, I would suggest doing that as well before registering the kids.
Please ask for clarification if you need any.
You can always call the women at the office and they can walk you through what you need as well.
