LOL, this comes up every year like clockwork. Don't know why it never gets off the ground. Maybe too much work is involved with the programing. I know there are several good cattle/dairy programs around and with small herds you can usually get a freeware version to use since it is aimed at large operations and the free version only allows 25 animals to be entered.... fine for goat people.
There is a very nice lady who has built an on-line interactive herd management program, she has been working on it for 8 years now and just closed the beta portion, so hopefully she is almost done. With it I have all my animals in one file, they are updated with ADGA's registry, so when one gets her *M it shows up there too. I can do planned breedings just like ADGA, but if I follow through I can place notes in the file and the program tracks all the kids and shows how well they do on the milk stand and in shows with a quick glance, right now I would have to enter each one at ADGA to see that info.
Shot/milk/kidding records are entered here once a month and I can see the info from anywhere in the world.... and print off for customers, which is nice to hand them a hard copy of everything we have done since the animal was born here.
