Sad really. They bred that little doe to an Alpine, glad she pulled through.

I've read far worse. At least they vaccinate and the goats appear to be well taken care of.

Well, sometimes it's not known. Ours are mutts -- we just go with what we 'think' they are, will never know for sure.
The xing of the alpine with the little doe may have been an accident - Lord know's I've read worse things on here... She may have even come to them that way.
Sure they could be more educated.
Seems they're at least trying (vaccinating, trimming, etc)
Sometimes it's easy to forget the big picture

What are the chances they even know what CL or CAE are? Years ago my daughter bought a young doe from seemingly nice people....who tested CAE pos. before she was bred or kidded. To this day I am not convinced that those folks didn't know...people sometimes act ignorant to "recoup" money at other people's (or children's) expense. Not very nice.

They may not know...
A risk you take when you bring home an untested (or without checking the paperwork) goat I'm afraid
