Electric Fence Introduction - When? How?

My girl Truffles is very respectful of our electric fence. Will she introduce her newborns or should I ? How soon? How? The little ones were born 3/5.

Are they already out in the fence? My kids usually introduced themselves to the electric! Try to be close by, in case they panic & run through. Momma may follow! They will cry pitifully, but be fine (and wiser!)

They are in it already. Just a bit ago one got zapped fell down and then just sat under it getting zapped repeatedly and crying out. I yanked it out from under the wire. Was that bad? Was Truffles leaving it there until it learned?? I'm worried this will happen again. It's seems like such a large charge to such a young goat. My fence is 6 Joules. We got a larger charger than we currently needed for expansion. Right now we are in the process of putting in more fencing for pasture etc. But currently it's only about 1/2 mile on a 100 mile charger.

I would have pulled it out too! I think it was so startled it didn't know what to do and froze up.
