Baby Goats delivered this morning!! Our First!
OK! So I came out to do the morning ritual of the farm, and there was Dream with the sack hanging out! Ran inside and awoke my wife, and then to my brothers and his wifes room. Had my brother go stay with our 2.5 yo daughter and we gathered our birthing kit and coffee pot and cups! Ran out and started talking to dream and stroking her. She was very calm, and this being her third birth, seemed none to worried. The first hooves poked out and she seemed to be straining, so we scrubed up, donned our gloves and lube and started to gently assist her in the pushing/pulling. She struggled for a few minutes with the forehead, and with a light pull...out slipped the first baby! Dream took right to it, and began her cleaning/bonding ritual and then the second started. Megan assisted a little with it, and out it slid as well! Trimmed the cord, dipped it and the feet, and then I had to go off to work! Wow...tears of joy seeing our first babies born on our little farmstead. Hard to believe we have only been on our place since August...amazing.
They are the sweetest little goaty-goats!

ahhh... congrats... you will never forget the magic of that first birth!!!! (and at least for us, it never gets old.. each birth/each year ... we still hold our breath, our hearts tighten.. then swell with happiness (and relief LOL).. once they safely arrive...
enjoy the babies (and thank you so much for sharing your special moment with us!)

So glad you could both be there for the births. They look like real cuties but wait till they are all dry & fluffy....you won't want to quit lovin on them.
My dh is a pretty manly-man kinda guy too & of course the year our first baby goat was born I was at work. He called immediately after she was born to tell me the news. I'll never forget his exact words were "She's the prettiest goat I've ever seen" Mind you we were also new to the homesteading & animals so he hadn't seen very many goats period but I thought that was so sweet anyways.

They are little balls of fluff and legs! We have one girl, one boy...they have amazong bloodlines, so we will be breeding the boy back to our other girl once she has birthed and we are ready!
