Should I sell her now or later

My friend wants to buy Butter from me. She's due to kid the first week of April. After reading on here about the poor doe that died from stress I'm now concerned. I don't want her to abort or die due to stress or my stupidity. Should I wait till a month after she kids to deliver her or do it now. She's pretty big already so I wouldn't be surprised of she went a week early. I am getting a doeling out of Butter either way. What are your oppinions? Also I give Butter a multi vitamin, a vit E cap and a calcium tab everyday to prevent some of the things we see on this board. These are the same vitamins I took when I was pregnant. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance!

Wait, I find its best not to change a does environment within a month of kidding... either way.

If she has free choice alfalfa then she does not need the calcium tab, it could actually throw off her balance.

I'm feeding one of my does Tums daily because of a problem last year.

I think I would wait too. I also don't think it hurts to give tums for calcium. I have one I give it to everyday also. Not sure but I don't think the multivitamin is necessary if she has minerals.

i think there is no clear answer to that and i would decide from doe to doe what would be best. if the management is very similar to what i do here, no reason to keep her longer. if i want a replacement kid out of this doe, she has to stay until after kidding. tums are not necessary if she has a balanced diet.

Thanks ladies I will keep her until after she has kidded and settled in a bit.

I'm unsure of the vitamins situation. Most people on here feed alfalfa and minerals yet when there is a problem the first thing we reccomend is CMPK and thiamin. I'm kinda thinking maybe we can avert disaster by giving them enough ahead of time. We have loose minerals but I rarely see the girls eat them. I may call the vet and ask. I doubt it would hurt to give them.

When I bought my Alpines they were due 'any time'. One turned out to not be bred, the other kidded 4 days after I brought her home.

Depends on the goat. Less than a month before kidding I probably wouldn't move them. A month or more, why not? Either way they SHOULD be fine.
