Pricing Help

Hi All, I am working on a trade for a couple of young doe kids (Nubians). Can anyone tell me their approximate value for a young doe? CL/CAE tested, not registered.

Thank you!

Depends on your area and reputation too

Here I get $600 for a reg doeling
In MO my friend is lucky to get $100 for one with my show genetics behind it
In MT a breeder I know with Saada genetics is lucky to get $350 and normally has to drop the price and make package deals, these are all reg kids.

Unreg animals are normally sold at market prices, check Craigslist for an average for your area. We sell our adult culls, unreg for between $150-$200, kids vary depending on seasons/holidays. Two weeks ago we had trouble selling wethers/unreg bucklings for $35, this week we got $85 a head.

Are these your animals or ones you want

I would look up pricng in your area, you can check your local Craig's to give you sort of an idea, signs in your feed stores etc.
Here un-registered but tested about $150 max if weaned.

Thank you everyone. I don't know much about this person or her goats, I am just now starting to talk to her about the possibility of a trade so haven't gotten too far into it. I just wanted to be better informed so I don't make a fool out of myself.

It seems to me that the CL adds are all over the map as far as price goes, so I am having a hard time getting a feel for "market price".

I'm so selfish...

I think $100 to $175 would be fair - that range depends on the quality of the doe, sire and dam.

Area plays a role, of course.

The east coast seems to bring better prices than the west and midwest.

Pony I want pics and stuff too! BUT if I get those before the details, the details won't matter because I will be smitten and just HAVE TO HAVE!

The lady I am looking to trade with is wanting to get into meat rabbits so she wants a pair or a trio for a doeling. I raise American Chinchillas and sell them for $35 a piece or $50 a pair (and I am low in my prices, I paid $115 for a trio). I am okay with this trade, but I want two goats and I am thinking she probably doesn't want 6 rabbits so I am just trying to see where I am at.
