I can milk!

DH has been doing the milking duties but with him being so exhausted from work I have slowly taken them over.

I can now milk with confidence!(usually haha) We did buy the UdderlyEZ milker because I have fibromyalgia and we thought that might make it easier for me. I can do it by hand though as well. I am really proud of myself.

I also told DH that if I am taking over the milking then if I see a goat I want I'm going to buy it

You are doing great!

And don't worry, g_b, it is not so hard to do once you get the hang of it!

I think my biggest fear was hurting them which is kinda funny after you watch a baby eat off of them lol.

I think we anthropomorphize a bit. I know when I first started milking, every pull made me wince.

Kinda like guys can see a robot movie where a robot gets racked, and STILL hunch and groan.

Congrats Nicole!
I don't have a milker and just use my hands (visit us over on the alternative health forum in the fibro thread if you haven't already) but so far it's worked out well.
I don't have anyone in milk at the moment but will have two by the summer. I just do what I can and rest my hands when I have to. I sit on the stand with the goat and start on the far teat first, that way if I run out of energy before she runs out of milk I don't have to stretch so far.

Good advice thanks! I have been over the fibro thread but not lately. Right now, I have no stand but I hope to soon, the Nigies are waaay too short to milk comfortably on the ground!

We used the FiasCo Farms plan for a stand. That and some salvaged materials and we were in business!!
