I have always felt most comfortable doing it at a month old. My friend and goat mentor started at a month also. My thinking behind this is by this age they are starting to nibble/eat other stuff and are old enough to regulate their own heat better without needed constant milk in their tummies.

I start at two weeks, but I keep "night" to 8 hours and keep an eye on their weight. The little ones I have right now are on target to have doubled their birthweight before then.
