Cabrito

At least to my untrained goat eye, he's quite a striking guy! I'd love to get some opinions on him.
This buck, who we've named Cabrito (a Alpine/Boer cross I found out) showed up at my property last October with three other big stinky rutting boys. The first thing I did was round up my pygmy girls and lock them in the dog pen, but luckily these guys were so interested in breeding each other they didn't even notice the girls. They made no effort to leave so we penned them up and put up signs. A few days later the owners contacted us and when I complimented how nice looking I thought this buck I was they said I could have him.
So, began the realization of raising meat goats. I bought him a few Boer girlfriends (one of which came preggers, that I posted for help about a few weeks ago)... We're keeping the little doeling so he'll have three gals that we can breed him to.

Very handsome guy, wish you were closer, he would be a good match for my Boer/Alpine doe.

Ya know, that's what I thought before I heard from his owners. His dad, a Boer, was one of the interlopers that showed up at my place and they knew the mom was an Alpine. I sure think he looks like the pics of Kikos I've seen though...
I'm glad you all think he's as handsome as I do!
He's a BIG guy and I can't wait to see the babies he makes!

He's a handsome boy and he does look like some of the Boer Alpine cross goats I've seen, except my friend dehorns hers.
