Yes that is interesting. I have Nubians and have observed that 1 doe who is noisy always has at least 1 kid that is noisy, so far in 4 years never more than 1 per kidding is noisy. My other doe is very quiet and her offspring have always been quiet. The wether I bought with the first doe is from her same bloodline (although not closely related) and he is noisy also. I was worried that they would all learn to be noisy from Lily but it seems to be genetic instead. Maybe I should mention the quietness of Nuggie's kids in my advertising since everyone thinks that all Nubians are noisy...

I believe it! When we brought star home, she had been raised for a yr by herself. Very rarely did she make any noise. We brought home mama, duke and daisy a few wks later, now (almost a yr later) she is still a loner but will call for them when she doesn't know where they are.
Our neighbor picked up a pygmy/nigerian looking pair with a high pitched meehh, I wouldn't be surprised if ours or theirs begins to sound more similarly.
