My DH works as an electronics technician and some of the guys he works with recommended this one. We got a better price than this link though.

That is going to be great, and will save you alot of trips to the barn to check on them. We have talked about getting one also. Keep us posted on how it works for you.

This is probably a dumb question, but can you use a barn cam like this if you don't have high-speed internet?

It works off your router, not internet connection between house and barn. Only trouble you would have is if you wanted to view the barn through the internet on an i-phone or another computer away from home.

Question

How far is your barn from the camera?

As our barn is 300 feet an we're going to find us a better camera later for next breeding season.

Will it reach the house?

I'm trying to locate a camera that will reach our home that is like 300 feet or just a hair more. Also have night camera as I can have barn lights off at times

We are told it should work up to 300 feet. I was reading the reviews on it and if need be, we can buy an antenna for it that will reach farther. I'll definitely report back on how well it works once we have it installed

Thanks.. Please do let me know how it works as we need one for our barn. We've got one but it's about 8 yrs old an it's getting worse on sending information back to the house to tv so really needing a really good camera to be able to do goat watch next kiddding season.

good luck. fixing to head out to barn an check see if our goat is getting ready to have her babies soon. It's pouring the snow here an going to be cold cold as heck. Praying she don't have them when the temperature drops down in the tens. Been on goat watch over a month an driving me NUTS.. lol.
