Boer Registration questions

Wow this is confusing me to no end!
Things I think I know: (and PLEASE correct me)
ABGA and UBGA bucks must be 97% or higher to registered
If a goat is registered with the ABGA I can also register it with the UBGA at the same percentage (but not the other way around anymore).

Things I wish I knew: (and PLEASE help me)
If a buck is not registered but the doe is registered 100% can I register any doelings the doe has at 50%? Is the answer different depending on ABGA or UBGA registry?

Thanks, and perhaps I should stick to less confusing non-registered stock.

Nope, the sire MUST be 97% or higher to register ANY kids. This is where you see a lot "registered at 50%, but is actaully 75%" Kinda descriptions on websites or sale ads.

For example, I have a doe who was the result of a myotonic buck breaking into a herd of purebred boer does. So, my doe Mattie's dam was pubred boer, her sire was a Myotonic. She is unregistered. Her daughter by a purebred buck is actaully 75%, but is registered at 50%.

Both USBGA and ABGA require the buck to be at least 97% for registration purposes (BTW, so does ADGA - American Dairy Goat Association, which is has been around a LOT longer than the Boer Goat registries).

Doesn't matter what the doe is, for registration purposes, if the buck is not that 97% or better.

Yes, USBGA will accept any registered goat (IBGA, ABGA, USBGA) that has appropriate paperwork, and will also allow you to show your goats at a USBGA show.

97% + 50%= 147/2 = 73.5%
Do they round down in registration?

yes, they round down... the only way to go up is if your buck is 100%... Thats why I only register bucks that would be 100% because otherwise it would be "watering down" the paperwork...

Interesting tidbit:

With ADGA, once your buck reaches American status (Purebred for Boers), his percentage is figured at 100%. So an American Alpine buck, for instance, bred to an Oberhasli doe produces 50% kids. A 97% Purebred Boer buck will only get you 48% (97 + 0 divide by 2).
