Leaving to pick up my LGD

So TODAY is the day!!! YAY!
I verified that he did not get sold last night (like the trailer did), and I am leaving shortly to pick him up. I've made arrangements to hang out there for awhile until he knows me so I am not creating such a "cut the cord & run" experience for him. So after 3 months of constant coyotes (and neighbor issues), I will FINALLY know that there is a little something down at the goat pen to tell me if something is going on
Yes, I will have pics of him later after we get him settled in! He's got a lot of introductions today: goats, our house dogs, the "good neighbor" and his dog, the kids, the chickens.... etc
So Have a good day everyone! Its going to be about 7-8 hours round trip.

BTW: He does not have a name. I want a name to fit a male Komondor... I am also going to look up commands in a different language so that a stranger can't communicate with him.

I would not introduce him to so much especially the first day. Too much too soon.
How old is he? What have the been using to get him to come?
A picture would be helpful in picking a name, something that is not too hard or long to day especially when you are yelling it so he can hear you

I can hardly wait for you to get home with him & see pictures of him! I'll have to see him first to see what name he looks like.

Have a safe trip!

Give him time to get used to your place, you, and your livestock before introducing him to everyone else. That is a lot of new stuff in a little bit of time.

Be VERY careful introducing him to the neighbors dog! He may percieve it a threat and attempt to deal with it immediately. Just be careful.

x2 ..... Well, I am back.
I had to laugh on the way up and on the way back though... I was going the speed that everyone else was going, but of course you always have these idiots who have to out do everyone... Well, on the trip north, a guy passed me going way too fast, (we were still in Ca), but half-way dropping down the hill into Oregon, I say him pulled over! lol
So, on my way south, some idiot was weaving in and out of traffic, and sure enough ....

So I will get pictures tomorrow. He is 8 months old. My poor boy is traumatized. He has never been away from his mom/dad, goat yard, away from his kids or goats... He cried (about 30 minutes) himself to sleep... He is already barking and patrolling the small fenceline that makes my goat pen. Of course MY goats do NOT understand WHY I would PUT a DOG in the pen with THEM ....
But after I gave them their hay, they were better.
well, I am going to go get something to eat...
