Moved to new place. Pics heavy. New hay rack.

Well we finally got moved! My goats now have about 3 times the yard now. They are eating it up. My poor buck was in a 20 by 20 pen for the longest time. And Penny and her kids were in a 34 by 16. We sold her kids and put Gregory and Penny in together until we can fence off the back section for a buck pen. He and a wether friend will end up there. Penny and my new (not yet found) new doe will have the bigger front section.

I would try to protect the vinyl siding on the structure the hay feeder is mounted against if I were you. Just a word of caution.

I didn't even think of that. Protect it from chewing goats? Or something else? That is the 16 by 16 shed that came with the new property. It will be the new goat barn as soon as we finish it.

Looks like you have happy goats. Although I have to agree with Pony, you buck is looking like he's a bit bored with his photo shoot in that one pic. LOL

Looks like a nice size lot they will be contained in, looks like a lot of oak leaves, hope that isn't a problem. Might need to look it up and see if oak leaves are toxic if eaten in large quanities. If there are oak trees there are sure to be acorns under those fallen leaves and your goaties will be sure to find them..

I have to smile.

My goats have not read the "don't eat this" plants list, b/c they LOVE oak leaves and acorns (and poison hemlock, too).

They are thriving, happy, healthy goats.

Nice setup. I like that hay feeder, and I like your goats. Yes, they'll probably nibble on that lovely vinyl siding, then go all out and really chew it up!

Well I hope the oak leaves keep them occupied for a while! The siding can't taste that good!

Mine eat acorns and oak leaves. They so far are okay. I agree block that siding. Trust me they will year it up. Red thinks our house is a jumping off platform.

I missed the siding, I was too busy drooling over the hay feeder.

Awesome set-up! I am jealous!

Congratulations on the new place, it looks perfect for your goats & they are soooo cute! Love Gregory in the one photo where he's curling his lip like he's smiling for the camera.

That hay feeder is Great, did you make it & if so what did you use for the bars in the front? I'd love to make something exactly like that, we always use wood in the front for the slats.

We did that on purpose. We imagined goats running and jumping all over them. But when we first put them in they would not go out into the yard. Not used to all the space I guess. They are used to it now!

My husband made it for me. The metal is conduit used to run wire through for electrical work. He had to run wire in his new shop space for his wood working tools, and these are the scraps from that. You can buy conduit at any lowes type store. But we only used it because we had it. I don't know how much it cost.
